The EBA published its final Guidelines on environmental scenario analysis, specifying supervisory expectations for how institutions should conduct environmental scenario analysis. The Guidelines aim to strengthen banks' ability to assess and manage environmental risks using forward-looking approaches.

Why it matters
These Guidelines integrate environmental risks into stress-testing and resilience analysis, supporting consistent and effective management of environmental risks across EU banks. They will apply from 1 January 2027.
